What is Saving Georgia Dogs?
Saving Georgia Dogs, Inc. (SGD) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c) 3 animal welfare organization & licensed rescue in Georgia. We save dogs every day on death row in high- kill shelters throughout Georgia with an emphasis on shelters using the gas chamber as a method of euthanization. Our motto is "We Leave No Dog Behind." We believe all dogs deserve a chance at life which is why we rescue in order of who's next to die. We pull, board, vet & rehabilitate dogs & help get them placed in loving forever homes. Through the generosity of people like you, we've saved over 700 dogs since we began in July 2006!

Yes, SGD is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are also listed with GuideStar.org, Network for Good & iGive.

SGD is made up of a Board of Directors & volunteers.

Where is SGD located?
SGD is based in Barnesville, GA.

Do you adopt your dogs to private individuals?
We hope to begin holding adoption days at local locations in GA but at present we only occasionally adopt to individuals. Currently we pull, board, vet & the then transport the majority of our dogs to our pre-approved, no-kill receiving rescues (which are located primarily in the Northeast) where they are placed in loving forever homes. Each receiving rescue we work with must meet our stringent requirements.

What is the Saving Georgia Dogs Forum?
SGD sponsors an online forum. This is separate from SGD the rescue. The forum provides a way to communicate quickly in order to save Urgent dogs (primarily in GA shelters but also in other states) & to help raise awareness about animal related subjects.
